Behavioral Medicine and Health Resilience is an interdisciplinary field that examines how stress, emotion, behavior, close relationships, and social and structural contexts influence health, disease, and adaptation across the life course. It integrates perspectives from psychological science, neuroscience, sociology, anthropology, economics, and related social sciences to understand mechanisms linking experience and context to biobehavioral regulation, health disparities, and resilience.

As a program, Behavioral Medicine and Health Resilience is housed in the School of Social Sciences and overseen by the Department of Psychological Sciences, with support from the Institute of Health Resilience and Innovation. Courses are drawn primarily from Psychological Sciences, Sociology, Anthropology, and Economics, and students complete a supervised, health-related research experience in laboratory, clinical, organizational, or community settings. At the undergraduate level, the program offers a Minor in Behavioral Medicine and Health Resilience.

Behavioral Medicine and Health Resilience does not currently offer an academic program at the graduate level.
